Roger Sanchez un grand DJ américain aux platines de Radio FG pour sa résidence hebdomadaire
Roger Sanchez est né en juin 1967 dans le Queens. Avec des origines dominicaines, Roger Sanchez entandait le son avec une autre oreille et découvrit les platines dès l'âge de 13 ans pour créer ses propres mix. Par la suite, il étudia l'architecture au Pratt institut au début des années 1990. Durant ces années, Rogea découvert les clubs et le mix. En dépit d’une carrière d’architecte pleine d’espoirs, c'est l'attrait des platines qui l'emportera.

Après quelques passages dans des clubs et surtout un long travail d'apprentissage, Roger Sanchez sortira à cette époque, son premier succès " Luv Dancin " signé sous le tout nouveau label de l'époque, avec Gladys Pizzaro Strictly Rhythm Records, devenu depuis le label mythique de la house new-yorkaise.

Par ce titre, Roger Sanchez passa d'un son underground garage à un son mondialement connu, influençant même outre Atlantique la house et la trance européenne. C'est aussi en 1990 qu'il signe, sous le non de Roger S, les remixes de Juliet Roberts, M People, Brand New Heavies and Michael Jackson, Diana Ross.
En 1994, Roger Sanchez, au son joyeux et rythmé, sort un tube dub et latino : « Samba Lumba ». Ensuite, Roger Sanchez devient S-Man et collabore avec Junior Sanchez et DJ Sneak. En 1998, Roger Sanchez se retrouve dans la B.O. de « Blade ».

Nominé aux Grammy Award de 1999, Roger Sanchez est reconnaissable entre tous par son style dense, ses lignes de basses syncopées, accompagnés des mélodies les plus envoûtantes. En 2000, Roger Sanchez sort son album au sonorité club des plus appréciées à Ibiza : First Contact.
Le premier album solo de Roger Sanchez est donc First Contact. Souvenez-vous, avec les titres "Release Yourself", " Turn On The Music " avec la voix puissante de GTO, Roger Sanchez est devenu un DJ incontournable de la scène DJ internationale. Du Queens au Queen Club, le pas est franchi !

Depuis ces succès, Roger Sanchez sort régulièrement ses doubles compilations Release Yourself. En 2006, il sort le disque Come With Me. En juin 2007, il livre Release Yourself. C'est donc depuis le début dees années 2000 que Roger Sanchez est suivi par une importante communauté de clubber, au travers ses sites internets et surtout au travers ses soirées " Release Yourself " qui font à chaque fois un carton plein. N'oublions pas non plus les remix que Roger Sanchez à pu faire comme Lost d' Eddie Thoneick ou Another Chance. Artiste complet, Roger Sanchez à même collaboré avec le cirque du soleil.

Winner of Best House DJ at the 2007 Ibiza DJ Awards, Roger Sanchez spent early 2008 pouring his talents into compiling and mixing the latest addition to his coveted Release Yourself compilation series. Consequently Release Yourself Volume 7, a connoisseur’s collection for lovers of the S-Man’s sensuous dancefloor vibe, is now set for a release on Monday 26th May, on Stealth Records. So slip on those shades as RY7 throws out some serious rays. The summer is here, Sanchez-style!
Seemingly invincible throughout a remarkable music career that has impacted on the 80s, 90s and 00s, Roger has always strived to innovate and evolve creatively as an artist. This passion and drive is embodied in Release Yourself, a cosmopolitan clubbing concept that’s every bit as relevant today as it was the day Roger first breathed life into the influential ‘Release Yo Self’ single in the mid-90s. From New York to the Netherlands, from London to Ibiza, the flow of energies and emotions on his dancefloors has earned Release Yourself a stellar status right around the world. And, over time, the Release Yourself family has expanded to encompass a CD mix series, a radio show (recorded in both English and Spanish) and an International Dance Music Awards (IDMA) 2007 winner for Best Podcast.
It’s therefore with great pride that Stealth Records announces the double disc arrival of Release Yourself Volume 7 to signal the start of summer 2008. Its release follows on from some major league partying for Roger at Miami WMC and pre-empts the party moving on to a weekly residency at Pacha Ibiza from Monday 16th June. For this latest volume Roger has mixed an inspiring episode that marries his durable US house heritage with more minimal European influences. As with every chapter, a Release Yourself theme is revealed as the mix is presented and for 2008 it’s water, pure and simple. So turn on RY7 with its Pre-Party and Party disc duality and submerge yourself in the sounds of the S-Man… just as water has its various states so does this package.
‘Locked to a groove, party people have always felt an immense sense of freedom, unity and excitement on the dancefloor,’ comments Roger. ‘Release Yourself mirrors those experiences and encapsulates that freedom, on an annual basis. Keeping it fresh and running the electronic gamut brought us to Volume 7 – a mixture of the key tracks flowing across my floors, together with some mellower moments for the Pre-Party disc!’
First up, the Pre-Party CD invites us on an atmospheric ride that builds and builds, from the minimal and melodic by way of deep house to more techy sounds. Yes Roger is very much at the controls of this ship, making liquid transitions with hot cuts from the likes of Pan-Pot, Kalim Shabazz, Applescal, Dean Newton & Huggy and Lost Shade.
The Party CD kicks it up a gear, on a pounding tribal/electro house club trip. Here the mix includes two S-Man edits (of MLA and Midnite Sleaze/Belocca) and stacks of today’s top talents, including Steve Angello, Mark Knight & Funkagenda, Axwell & Ingrosso and TV Rock. Finally Laidback Luke & Tom Stephan ft. Romanthony close the curtains with a WMC bomb called ‘Show’, which is a forthcoming single on Stealth so watch this space.
